YOU

You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As a Structural Engineer (Product Development), you will be working in a collaborative environment of structural design engineers, tool design engineers, and manufacturing experts. Your innovation in product design will be driven by the needs of the customer, changes in building materials and methods, and building code changes. You will recommend alterations and enhancements to improve the quality, performance and cost of products. You will provide technical support and information to branch engineers, designers, customers, and other business units. The Product Development team includes civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and wood and material specialists.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

You will participate in the development of new structural products and solutions for the concrete, light-frame wood, cold-formed steel, and mass timber markets.
You will develop experimental test plans; collect, organize, and analyze test data; and perform related calculations.
You will participate in the software development lifecycle, supporting the development of engineering logic and providing validation for structural software.
You will support the post-launch phase of new products and provide customer support for usage-related issues, including those related to improve current Software, automation tools and structural applications.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop 3D models, production and detailed drawings, data analyses, and marketing materials.
Regular communication with project stakeholders including Product and R&D Engineers, Engineering Manager, Product Managers, and others.

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

Master/Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related experience and/or training, equivalent combination of education and experience required.
No experience required. We welcome fresh graduates (from 0-1 year of experience)
Sufficient in analysis software such as SAP2000/ETABS
Sufficient in AutoCAD drafting/modelling
Proficient in VBA for Excel is a plus
Proficient in IBC, ACI318 and ASCE 7 codes is a plus
English skills: Fairly good command in English (Reading and Writing), or equivalent to TOEIC 600 - Comprehend construction documents including architectural and structural plans, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to work collaboratively with other members within department and across functions.
Analysis / Reasoning: Effective analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables and solve them independently.
Self-Management: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
Team Player: Demonstrated ability to motivate and work with team members. Must be able to connect, interface, and communicate well with a variety of internal partners in sales, marketing, and development.
